Museums for All program expands visitor access to Morehead

CHAPEL HILL, NC (May 6, 2024) — Want to explore the universe but are concerned about cost? If you have a SNAP EBT card, you can enjoy Morehead Planetarium and Science Center at a reduced price through Museums for All, with access to discounted admission and annual memberships.
“We’re committed to Science for All at Morehead,” says director Todd Boyette. “We believe in offering equal access to our programs, exhibits, and planetarium shows, regardless of an individual’s financial situation.”
Cardholders are eligible for discounted tickets of $1 per person for up to seven guests. To take advantage of this offer, bring your card and ID to the Morehead box office on the day of your visit. Visitors can enjoy live science demonstrations, explore exhibits, tinker in our Launch Lab, and see a show in our fulldome theater—all for one low price.
If you’re a frequent visitor to Morehead, the Museums for All membership is a great option! For just $5 a year (while supplies last), you and three other household members can enter for free and enjoy regularly scheduled programming whenever you visit. That’s a significant saving, especially if you plan on visiting multiple times. You’ll also receive two one-time-use guest passes and six one-hour parking vouchers as a member.

In addition to free visits to Morehead, members receive special communications and access to exclusive events like film screenings and lectures. You can also benefit from discounts on birthday parties, purchases at the Cosmic Goods gift shop, and entry to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. A Museums for All membership offers more than just expanded access to Morehead. You can also expand your journey through the ASTC Passport Program, which provides discounts at over 300 science centers and museums (local restrictions apply).
