Current Openings

Director of Advancement 

Morehead Planetarium and Science Center is looking for an accomplished fundraising professional with demonstrated administrative and managerial experience. An ideal candidate will have experience in grants, donor relations, project management, and communications. The Director of Advancement will also understand classical marketing and how to apply it in a non-profit setting. In collaboration with Morehead’s director, development team, Office of University Advancement, and volunteer leadership, the Director of Advancement will design and implement comprehensive strategies for support of the annual operating budget and periodic comprehensive fundraising campaigns.

Sales Associate 

Our summer 2024 Sales Associate positions are now filled, but we are still considering applications for Sales Associate for the 2024-25 school year.

Sales Associates work in our box office and museum store, selling tickets and merchandise. No prior experience required. Weekend work required, some evening work required.

$11.55/hour

Guest Relations Assistant 

Guest Relations Assistants work with visiting field trips from schools and reservations for other non-school organizations. They provide customer service and wayfinding for group programs, general public operations, birthday party programs, private planetarium shows, and other special events. No prior experience required. We are currently hiring for Summer 2024. Staff hired for summer 2024 will have the option to continue work in Fall 2024 if availability permits. Some evening work required, some weekend work required.

$10.55/hour
