Interpretive Programs Lead Coordinator
We are looking for a great person to fill the Interpretive Programs Lead Coordinator position here at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining and improving the Interpretive programs in the Launch Lab and Science Stage, as well as helping to recruit, train and mentor the student staff that work in those areas and in the exhibits.

Community Engagement Intern
Morehead Planetarium and Science Center seeks an energetic, motivated individual to play a vital role on the Community Engagement Team. This 11-month position provides an educator with a unique opportunity to gain considerable experience in science program execution and coordination. The Community Engagement intern will support the North Carolina Science Festival, FUTURES storytelling workshops, NC STEM Calendar, and special community events.
Responsibilities will include administrative support for core initiatives, designing curriculum, leading hands-on STEM activities, and assisting with the delivery of programs including workshops and community meetings.
This position is an 11-month internship, with occasional evening and weekend work.

Summer Outreach Educator
Morehead is looking for Summer Outreach Educators to lead daily science sessions for 20 children in kindergarten – 5th grade at community-based youth development centers in Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Johnston, Orange, Vance, and Wake counties.
This two-month opportunity provides an opportunity to gain experience in STEM education. Training in curriculum and instruction will be provided.
