Membership

For 75 years, Morehead Planetarium and Science Center has supported science education in North Carolina. Now, you can support Morehead and get special benefits for yourself, including admission benefits to hundreds of science centers and museums nationwide through the ASTC Passport Program.

All membership levels receive:

  • Membership welcome packet containing: membership card(s), info sheets with lists of Morehead and ASTC Passport benefits, Morehead Member static cling sticker, and annual member gift
  • Special member communications for early-access tickets; updates on exhibits, programs, and special events; and more
  • Member-only programs and special events

Membership Levels

Whether you love learning about space and science, or you want to show support to a world-class planetarium, membership makes you a vital part of the Morehead community. Choose the annual membership level that is right for you.

  • Unlimited free admission to our regularly scheduled planetarium shows, Science Stage programs, and interactive exhibits
  • Two one-hour parking vouchers**
  • Free admission for up to 4 members of your family to regularly scheduled planetarium shows, Science Stage programs, and interactive exhibits
  • Two guest passes for free admission (one-time use only) and six one-hour parking vouchers**
  • Priority registration for Summer Science Camps
  • A $25 discount on birthday parties at Morehead
  • Free admission for up to 5 members of your family to regularly scheduled planetarium shows, Science Stage programs, and interactive exhibits
  • Two guest passes for free admission (one-time use only) and eight one-hour parking vouchers**
  • Priority registration and 10% discount for Summer Science Camps
  • A $25 discount on birthday parties at Morehead
  • Free admission for up to 6 members of your family to regularly scheduled planetarium shows, Science Stage programs, and interactive exhibits

*Limitations apply to science centers and museums participating in the program that are within a 90-mile radius of Morehead and your home.

**Unused member benefits (e.g., guest passes, parking vouchers) expire at the end of the annual membership and do not roll over with membership renewal.

Museums for All Family: $5

Through the support of a generous donor, Morehead is extending its Museums for All partnership to include annual memberships in addition to $1 one-day tickets. SNAP EBT cardholders are eligible for $5 annual memberships while supplies last. Museums for All memberships can be purchased in person at the Morehead Box Office. The cardholder must show identification along with SNAP EBT card at the time of purchase.

As a Family-level member of Morehead, up to four members of a household can enjoy free admission to regularly scheduled planetarium shows, Science Stage programs, and interactive exhibits, as well as all the other benefits of the Family level.

Corporate Membership: $2,500

Looking for a way to support Morehead and share the wonder of science with your employees? Morehead invites you to invest in us through a Corporate Membership. This membership level provides immediate benefits for your organization and your employees.

Benefits:

  • Eligibility for your organization to rent Morehead’s unique facilities—including exhibit galleries and our famous fulldome theater—for your special events^
  • One-time $250 discount on facility rental^
  • 10% off regularly scheduled planetarium show and general admission tickets for your employees
  • 10% discount at Morehead’s gift shop for your employees
  • 10% discount on Individual, Family, and Family Plus memberships for your employees

You will receive a welcome packet with information about using your member benefits as well as a digital flyer and reproducible discount card to share with your employees. Your member discount code can be used online for advance ticket purchases and at the Morehead Box Office. Annual membership is $2,500. The tax-deductible portion of this charitable contribution is $2,250.
