September 25, 2017

CHAPEL HILL, NC— Morehead Planetarium and Science Center is partnering with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), to engage more students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through the first of its kind STEM vehicle called “Science on Your Street.”

On Tuesday, Sept. 26, GSK’s “Science On Your Street” vehicle will take off to bring hands-on science to ten different Boys and Girls Clubs throughout North Carolina, beginning with Brentwood Boys and Girls Club in downtown Raleigh. The “Science on Your Street” vehicle will spend a week at each Boys and Girls Club to help inspire a new generation of scientists.

“Morehead Planetarium is pleased to partner with the ‘Science On Your Street’ initiative, which will have a statewide impact on North Carolina communities, families, schools, and children through its innovative and interactive science” said Crystal Harden, Morehead’s Director of Programs and Strategic Initiatives, “Our goal and purpose is to inspire and engage children of ages, as well as, their families and communities in science and engineering technology.”
