Membership
For 75 years, Morehead Planetarium and Science Center has supported science education in North Carolina. Now, you can support Morehead and get special benefits for yourself, including admission benefits to hundreds of science centers and museums nationwide through the ASTC Passport Program.
All membership levels receive:
- Membership welcome packet containing: membership card(s), information sheets with lists of Morehead and ASTC Passport benefits, and annual member item
- Special member communications for early-access tickets, updates on exhibits, programs, special events, and more
- 10% discount at Morehead’s gift shop Cosmic Goods
- 50% discounted admission to North Carolina Zoo
- Buy One, Get One Free regular admission tickets (up to four free) to Kaleideum (Winston-Salem)
- Admission benefits at more than 300 science centers and museums through the ASTC (Association of Science and Technology Centers) Passport Program*
Gift membership email notifications are typically sent within 48 hours of purchase, and welcome packets with physical membership cards typically take 10 business days to arrive via USPS. The membership office is closed December 19 through January 1. Gift memberships purchased during that timeframe will not be processed and contacted until January 2.
All non-gift memberships purchased December 19 through January 1 will automatically process and email a confirmation overnight on the date of purchase. Non-gift membership packets with physical membership cards will be sent out the week of January 5 via USPS and typically take 10 business days to arrive. The membership confirmation email with your membership number can be used in lieu of a physical card at participating ASTC locations.

*Limitations apply to science centers and museums participating in the program that are within a 90-mile radius of Morehead and your home.
**Unused member benefits (e.g., guest passes, parking vouchers) expire at the end of the annual membership and do not roll over with membership renewal.
Parking Update
Members can have their parking tickets validated in one-hour increments, according to the number of vouchers included in their membership. These vouchers are valid only for the duration of the membership and do not carry over upon renewal. To redeem parking vouchers, members should bring their parking tickets to the front desk and request validation. Staff will verify the membership details and validate the ticket for the requested hours. When leaving, the system will charge for any remaining time or allow exit if the ticket is fully covered.
Membership Agreement
Membership to Morehead Planetarium and Science Center is intended for noncommercial use by individual members and benefits cannot be transferred. The membership card and privileges are valid only for the person(s) named on the membership account and their allotted number of guests.
Morehead reserves the right to revoke memberships for abuse of member privileges, including, but not limited to, reselling free or discounted member tickets, noncompliance with applicable rules and benefit allotments, and inappropriate conduct. Purchase of an annual membership does not entitle purchaser to renewal in a subsequent year. Membership levels, benefits, and prices are subject to change without notice.
