SUMMARY:Teen Science Cafe: Agriculture\, Wildlife\, & Conservation in the Galapagos Islands
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that there is agriculture in the Galapagos? \n\n\n\nFor this special Teen Science Cafe\, we’ll speak with Francisco Laso whose work in the Galapagos uses an interdisciplinary approach to explore how agriculture and conservation can be allies in supporting farmer livelihoods\, controlling invasive species\, and protecting endemic species.    \n\n\n\nAbout Francisco Laso | Francisco is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Geography from UNC Chapel Hill but his background is in ecology and evolution. He has worked in the Galapagos in education and conservation projects for the past decade. Francisco is interested in mixed-methods and participatory approaches to studying human-environment interactions\, especially in subjects that can help make our food systems more sustainable.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nyj
