The North Carolina Science Festival is a major initiative of Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. Since launching the Festival in 2010, Morehead has developed a statewide network of partners and sponsors to help stage the event every spring.
The idea behind the Festival is that, as a society, we celebrate what we value, and we value what we celebrate. And as a society, we celebrate and value science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)! In creating the North Carolina Science Festival, Morehead helps encourage our state to place high value on these disciplines. The Festival has become a powerful mechanism for developing STEM programming in areas where little or no STEM programming existed previously and for building community and collaboration among the various groups working on STEM issues in North Carolina.
The 2017 Festival is April 7-23. To learn more about the North Carolina Science Festival, please visit the Festival's website.
