It may not feel like spring on some of these brisk days, but it's already time for "Starry Nights: Spring Skies" on Wednesday, March 18. This adult education program offers an opportunity to learn about the constellations, planets and other celestial objects best seen this season.

The Science of Sport

The Science of Sports is Wednesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall, UNC-Chapel Hill. This is a signature event of the North Carolina Science Festival.

Science on the Sundial

Morehead is an official site for the 2nd Friday Artwalk, sponsored by the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership. During each 2nd Friday, experience "Science on the Sundial" with hands-on activities (free) and evening planetarium shows (regular ticket prices apply).

The next 2nd Friday Artwalk is March 14. We'll have science activities, two planetarium shows and the popular food truck, Parlez-Vous Crêpe

Morehead’s Nick Eakes is selected as a Solar System Ambassador

The NASA/JPL (Jet Propulsion Lab) Solar System Ambassador Program has selected Nick Eakes, one of Morehead’s educators, to be an ambassador for the state of North Carolina this year. The program is a public outreach program designed to work with motivated volunteers across the nation.

“It’s a great opportunity for me,” said Eakes. “Being an ambassador lets me share something I’m excited about and get the public excited about it too.”
