Curious about life aboard the International Space Station? Come visit NASA's Destination Station, making its first North Carolina stop at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center on Tuesday, May 3 (1-6 p.m.). Morehead is on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
NASA's Destination Station is a mobile multimedia exhibit that surrounds visitors in the NASA story and features a Moon rock collected by Apollo 17 astronauts. Admission to this traveling exhibit is free; NASA's Destination Station will be installed in the parking area in front of Morehead (250 E. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill) for one afternoon only.
Morehead also welcomes astronaut Doug Wheelock, who will share his stories about living and working in space and answer visitors' questions in a private event for Morehead members on Tuesday evening. Seating is limited and preregistration is required for the evening event. Morehead memberships are available online and in the Morehead gift shop; please email firstname.lastname@example.org for information about preregistration.
