CHAPEL HILL— To celebrate International Science Center & Science Museum Day, Morehead Planetarium and Science Center will open its doors to the public on November 10th for a special Friday from 10AM-3:30PM. Visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy celestial programming in the planetarium, live science demonstrations, and the current exhibit “Firsts in Flight,” celebrating historic African-American contributions to aviation and spaceflight.

International Science Center & Science Museum Day is a yearly, worldwide event that highlights the importance of scientific institutions and their impact on solving global issues and bringing communities together. It falls on the same day as UNESCO’s World Science Day for Peace and Development, of which this year’s theme is Global Understanding—perfectly complementing Morehead’s mission to educate and inspire the public on the wonders of science.

This event coincides with Veterans Day, and Morehead will be offering a 10% discount to all our valued military members, families, and veterans from November 10th-12th with a valid Military ID.
