Calling all homeschoolers ...

Mark your calendars: Feb. 17, 2016 is Homeschool Day at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. Homeschool students and groups are invited to participate in Morehead's Discovery Classes and other programs offered to large groups and school field trips. 

Homeschool groups of any size may register for showings of our kid-friendly, educational fulldome planetarium productions, as well as live interactive Science Stage performances and hands-on Discovery Classes.  (The planetarium shows “Astronaut,” “Black Holes” and “Solar System Odyssey” are also available with Spanish translations.)

9:30 a.m.

  • GlaxoSmithKline Fulldome Theater: “Astronaut”

10:30 a.m.

  • GlaxoSmithKline Fulldome Theater: “Earth, Moon and Sun”
  • Science Stage: All Systems Go
  • Discovery Classes – Blue Classroom: Solar Systematics
  • Discovery Classes – Green Classroom: Round and Round We Go

11:30 a.m.

  • GlaxoSmithKline Fulldome Theater: “Black Holes”
  • Science Stage: Magnificent Matter
  • Discovery Classes: Solar Systematics; Round and Round We Go
  • Discovery Classes – Green Classroom: Round and Round We Go

12:30 a.m.

  • GlaxoSmithKline Fulldome Theater: “Solar System Odyssey”
  • Science Stage: Phenomenal Physics
  • Discovery Classes: Solar Systematics 
  • Discovery Classes – Green Classroom: Round and Round We Go
