North Carolina Science Festival
April 13-29, 2012
What
The North Carolina Science Festival is a multi-day celebration showcasing science and technology. The Festival highlights the educational, cultural and financial impact of science in our state. Through hands-on activities, science talks, lab tours, nature experiences, exhibits and performances, the Festival engages a wide range of public audiences while inspiring the next generation.
Everyone’s invited! Events are designed to appeal to diverse audiences – from preschoolers to seniors and from “science-phobes” to science lovers. The North Carolina Science Festival has something for just about everyone.
Why
The North Carolina Science Festival and others like it offer an opportunity to celebrate science in fun and welcoming settings. With this Festival, we have the opportunity to cultivate a positive environment that encourages children to pursue science-related careers and encourages businesses to invest in North Carolina.
In an era when recent reports indicate that the United States is losing ground as the world leader in science and technology and fewer students than ever are pursuing careers in science and technology, the Festival can energize our state’s effort to respond to these challenges while building new and stronger relationships among the education, business and cultural leaders who will lead that response.
When
The second North Carolina Science Festival will take place from April 13–29, 2012. There will be numerous events each day spread across the state. Visit our website to browse the Festival calendar.
Where
North Carolina Science Festival events will take place in a variety of venues across the state – science museums, businesses, college and university campuses, parks, restaurants, theaters and more. Some events will be inside, while others will take place in nature. Since science is all around us, events can really take place anywhere! Visit the North Carolina Science Festival website to find an event near you.
