Dynamic Earth explores the inner workings of Earth's climate system, following a trail of energy that flows from our Sun into the interconnected systems that create our climate. You'll ride on swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and whales and fly into fiery volcanoes!

This fulldome planetarium show is the result of a two-year collaboration between Spitz Creative Media, the advanced visualization lab at the National Center of Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois, and Thomas Lucas Productions Inc. Produced in association with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and NASA Earth Science. Narrated by Academy Award-nominated actor Liam Neeson. 24 minutes.

This presentation at Morehead is supported by proceeds from the 2013 Cirque des Sciences.

Teachers: This show is available in Spanish for your group trip! Morehead offers two options for this: The show can be presented in Spanish for the entire audience, or Morehead can provide assistive listening devices for a Spanish translation (serving up to 10 students) while the show is presented in English. If you need one of these options for your class, please discuss this with Morehead Guest Relations when you are confirming your field trip reservation. The assistive listening device option is also available for individual guests (not with a field trip group) with advance notice.

Age recommendation

Recommended for ages 10 and older.

Seasonal schedules

Visiting soon? Check out Morehead's interactive calendar to see what's happening when you'll be here. Just click the date -- the interactive calendar is typically up-to-date within one week of today.

Please note that Morehead does not offer all of its shows every day and that exhibits may be closed for maintenance or for classes during some hours.

If you're planning to visit several weeks from today, check out our current schedule of public shows to plan your trip and check the interactive calendar just before your visit to learn about any schedule updates.

Please note that seasonal schedules change four times each year (spring, summer, fall and winter), and some shows are not offered during every schedule.

School shows

In addition to its public shows, Morehead offers shows during the week especially for school classes and other field trip groups. These school shows do not appear on the seasonal schedule but do appear on Morehead's daily calendar.

If seats are available, the public may purchase tickets to school shows.

However, school groups with reserved seating have first priority on any remaining seats (for example, if extra chaperons attend), so Morehead cannot guarantee that public seats will be available for school shows.
