Teen Science Cafe -- NEW! -- on March 22

posted Monday March 18, 2013

Morehead Planetarium and Science Center is hosting the first-ever Chapel Hill Teen Science Cafe on Friday, March 22, at 6 p.m. If you're a teen, you're invited!

What happens at a Teen Science Cafe? Everyone meets and talks with a scientist, who'll open the program by talking about a cool science topic. There's a group activity, plus food and trivia prizes. It's free to attend!

At this Teen Science Cafe, you'll meet Dr. Daniel Ksepka from the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center in Durham. Dr. Ksepka will show us how scientists reconstruct "evolutionary trees" -- and then, as part of a group, you'll create a "tree" for a set of mysterious metal organisms!

Help Morehead spread the word about the Chapel Hill Teen Science Cafe! Bring your friends, and tell everyone at your school. When you arrive at Morehead on Friday, enter through the UNC Visitors Center (the entrance on the west side with the tall columns). See you on Friday!
